Wakame makes great salad and soups. Rich in iodine with anti-obesity properties, Wakame is an excellent health food rich in protein and good for everyone, especially children. I recently managed to buy some ready made Wakame which makes instant soups from Japanese supermarket in Hong Kong. I'm planning on making it one of my regular soup since all I need is to simply boil the water like in tea and it can be served instantly. What an excellent product!

Wakame (ワカメ wakame?), Undaria pinnatifida, is a sea vegetable, or edible seaweed. It has a subtly sweet flavour and is most often served in soups and salads.

Sea-farmers have grown wakame for hundreds of years in Japan and Korea and it has been nominated as among 100 of the world's worst invasive species according to the Global Invasive Species Database
