A university romance, 16 years of dating and after the ups and downs of any relationship, they are finally tying the knot! It is a day of joy as the world looks on! And starting from 8 am local time, the broadcast begins! 3 hours to go before the actual event and I'm penning this down as it is progressing.

10000 media reporters, 1900 guests, 180 countries broadcasting and countless smitten spectators. A marathon broadcast covering the "legacy of Diana". When the little prince grows into adulthood and begins a new chapter in his life, the world watches on as he takes his bride. Not just anyone but the stunning Kate Middleton who'd be the future Queen!

The location: Westmister Abbey
Visitors and well wishers from all over England and the world began camping outside the Westminster Abbey the day before. The mood is festive and wonderfully vibrant. People are all excited and looking forward to the 16th royal wedding of the Westminster Abbey history.

Priceless treasures are also on display within the church. Many of the mosaics which are normally covered and protected are all on show this special day. Kate asked for Maple trees to be planted within and it's her way of taking nature into the church.

At 8.30 am sharp, the guests are shown into the church and seated. I wonder if everyone is outside celebrating today in the UK. It's definitely a long weekend this week and the excitement must be awesome in London today!

While everyone is waiting for the ceremony, the newscasters go around interviewing people who have come into contact with the royal couple. It was interesting to hear them talk about Prince William and Kate Middleton as it gives the audiences all over the world a personal glimpse into the royalties.

The Gown & Fashion
Before we all get to see the precious gown, we have an array of colors bursting within the Westminster Abbey. Interesting hats of all kind of shapes and colors brighten up this Spring day which is a little gloomy as rain has been forecast for the later part of the day. Everyone dresses impeccably, least of all the band. This is certainly entertainment at its best!

Some guests spotted (in order of appearance) are David & Victoria Beckham, Elton John, Mr. & Mrs. Cameron, the Sultan of Brunei, Prince Albert of Monaco, Serbian Royal Family, Queen of Denmark, King & Queen of Norway,

At 10.12 am, we see Prince William and Prince Harry leaving Clarence House. The groom is fabulously dashing in the bright red colonel uniform of the Irish guard. There is exuberance everywhere along the route to the Westminster Abbey! The Princes look relaxed as they get out of their car, both as dashing and handsome! Diana would have been proud of her sons! *sob, sob*

At 10.30 am, we see the bride's mother and brother appearing from their car and arriving at the Abbey. The bride's mother looks sweet, collected and happy.

At 10.35 am we see the Duke of York (aka Prince Andrew) with Princess Beatrice & Princess Eugenie who are now 21 and 20! How time flies!

At 10.38 am we catch the first glimpse of Prince Charles & his wife, Camilla leaving for the Abbey.

At 10.41 am, the Queen is on the way dressing in bright yellow! She can be spotted from afar and everywhere in that bright dress! Oh wow, The Queen is 86 this year and had recently celebrated her 63rd anniversary! The Queen arrives at 10.48 am at the Westminster Abbey. 12 mins more to go and the church service will commence! This is highly exciting!

Of the 3 ladies who have now arrived, I must say I like Mrs. Middleton's dress best (designed by Anna Valentine)! It's simply cut and has a nice silky feel to it. Her hat is not too big and just the right size!

Kate Middleton appeared first at 10.50 am when she boarded the car and we get a little view of her wedding gown! It looks simple and regal from what I can see. Delightful! Delicate with a lot of intricate laces. Nothing like Diana's. Yes, Kate Middleton will be remembered for hew own beauty and style from now on! I like her bouquet of flowers, very modest and sweet :)

What a lovely view of the bride along her journey to the Abbey. The visitors and well wishers are all eyes on the bride and totally ecstatic! The bride is radiant and happy with her father by her side. Sarah Burton desinged her dress (click on the link for more details about the gowns and pictures). What a vision as she step out of the car. Totally exquisite! Very traditional and a timeless look!

Church Service
The wedding is due to commence. The bride arrives punctually at 11 am. She looks exquisite and totally relaxed in her beautiful gown. I love her tiara! Very princess-ty!

Prince William looks more serious as he gets out and heads towards the alter. The sight of the bride walking towards the alter is magnificent. What a sight and a happy moment in time! Now, I know why so many girls dream of this moment. After this, any wedding would pale in comparison! Of course, we all can't compare a wedding as such just like we can never wiped out Diana's wedding from our memory. This wedding will instead form new memories for us and they are such wonderful memory to capture on films! I could almost glimpse the tears in the bride's mother's eyes.

Beautiful and lovely moments of the exchange of vows. The chorus is just as spectacular! The ceremony took 1 hour all in all and the couple steps out of the church at 11.08 am, greets the crowd and boarded the 1902 carriage. Celebration begins! The crowd is exuberant! This is the moment everyone is waiting for! What a climax!!!

This is definitely the wedding of the decade!!! Absolutely Gorgeous!

Checkmate, Kate! You've taken the King!

Balcony Appearance

Sharing their first (and then again, second) kiss officially as husband and wife, Kate and Prince William appeared on the Buckingham Palace to the delights of the crowded spectators and well wishers.  Well, folks, that's the end of the ceremony unless you've been invited to the afternoon reception for some 600+ guests!

Counting down to the wedding of the decade!
Well, the European royal families haven't had a more looking forward to wedding of the decade since the last century when the parents of the bridegroom (ie. Prince Charles & Diana) was wedded. Yes, Prince Frederik of Denmark, Prince Haakon of Norway and Princess Victoria got their fair share of royal weddings in the last few years. Nonetheless, this is one wedding that those interested in the royal family will be interested to see (either in person visiting the UK or watching it on TV).    …

A Pithy Look at the Royal Wedding
If the theatricality and utter ridiculousness of the hats and fascinators parading into Westminster Abbey didn’t force you to watch the royal wedding, surely the pomp, circumstance and theatricality of the whole event did. Still didn’t bite? Fine, then I shall be forced to regale you with all of the dirty details of the Royal Wedding.       Since I know very little about the social or royal elite of Britain I have no idea who most of the homely women in the floral …

I'm happy for them both and wish them the best, but part of me still wonders exactly what the point is of having a "royal" family in these modern times???

Kate Middleton is just so damn beautiful. Prince William is getting a stunner to hang on his arm, and I hope she can use her celebrity for good.

About this topic

On 16 November 2010, it was announced that Prince William of Wales, second in line to the throne in 16 Commonwealth countries, and his girlfriend, Kate Middleton, will marry in 2011. Both William and Kate, who first met in 2001 while studying at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, were 28 years old at the time of the engagement. The wedding ceremony is due to take place at Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011, after which the couple intend to live on the Isle of Anglesey in Wales, where Prince William is based as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot.

The Prince and his long-time girlfriend, Kate Middleton, became engaged in October 2010 while on a private holiday in Kenya. Middleton was given the engagement ring that originally belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales —an 18 carat white gold ring with large oval sapphire and 14 round diamonds.

On 16 November 2010, Clarence House, the office of the Prince of Wales, announced that Prince William would marry Middleton "in the spring or summer of 2011, in London". The Prince of Wales, on a visit to Poundbury, Dorchester, said he is "obviously thrilled". The confirmation of the announcement explained that Queen Elizabeth II was happy for the couple.

The venue has not yet been announced. On the issue of whether the wedding would be marked in the United Kingdom by an extra bank holiday, a Downing Street spokesperson stated on the day after the announcement that "Those sorts of discussions are yet to be ...
