A Quick Tip by Penelope11
OK, I can see we're past the high interest time for everything Irish, but I just noticed the Irish reads and couldn't help but comment. The best book to get you into visiting Ireland is "Rick Steve's Ireland." He shows you how to be a part of the culture. If you are going to see Ireland and specifically Dublin, you need to read the Dublin writers like James Joyce, Jonathan Swift and Samuel Becket and see how they shaped the culture. They are the heavy weights.
Of course, a more current writer would be Roddy Doyle. Several of his books have been made into movies. The most notable being the movie called "The Commitments."
Once in Dublin you will need to do a literary pub crawl to learn more about their writing and living habits in Dublin for a fine evening.
