So far so good!

I got to experience Vista on my boyfriend's computer since last year so now having my own wasn't a traumatic experience. I like the way everything looks, polished and beautified form the inside out and quite honestly I like how my computer is running now. It gets a little annoying when games and programs that I want to use or download aren't Vista compatible but with time that issue should resolve itself. Also the only annoying part is the pop up when you install anything asking to Allow that installation, but hey better safe than sorry, I've had my share of random viruses and crashes in the past but so far that hasn't happened yet.

No blue screen for me whit Vista, so far everything is running smooth and I've had the same computer revamped with new hard drives for a few years now, so you don't have to have a brand spankin' new pc to use this. It's nice to finally catch up with the world and have a current version of Windows; I was always s a few years behind on my current version lol.

Do you have the habit of changing a computer password on a regular basis? My sister often changes her Windows login password and the last time she changed it was at last night. The next morning, when starting up, Windows asks her for a password. She cannot remember what the password has changed to and now she is locked out of her computer. Thus how to reset computer password turns out to be a problem. Usually, as for the similar circumstance, people are prior suggested to try hard …

I own an Intel based iMac and partitioned my hard drive so that I could install Vista. After some delays during the install process I was up and running.    I have to say, I like the look and feel of Vista. But there is little to draw me to it over OSX. I already have that and it works better than Vista. I can only think of a handful of reasons to run Vista and those are all so that I can use PC specific software. However, my Mac does 99.9% of what I need so why bother? As an …

I hadn't yet tried Vista Ultimate nor SP1, so this was a welcome opportunity. I tried it on one of my newer computers with moderately fast CPU and graphics adapter - and when I say moderately, I mean exactly that.     The install was trouble-free. But performance is still problematic with anything but really fast CPUs and graphic adapters. And the messages! The endless messages are enough to drive one mad. I didn't notice any spectacular performance gains over Vista Home Premium. …

I always think of installing a new operating system as a kind of spa day for your computer. I expect it to be an improvement, and to make the computer happy. Wanting a happy computer, I was happy myself to offer to review this software for the Vine program.  As soon as it arrived, I began hearing dire warnings about how installing Vista had killed mightier computers than mine. My software wouldn't work any more, people assured me. And maybe the machine wouldn't even start any more. Other …

Windows Vista has gotten a lot of flack and negativity and I will be one of the minority? to disagree. Microsoft spend many years developing this operating system and I feel that they succeeded with improving the flagship OS of PCs overall. The biggest difference with Vista vs XP and earlier OSs is the overall look and feel. Mac OS X had beautified the OS experience for many years and Microsoft had to change things up to compete in the market. With their new 'Aero' look letting you tile windows …

Received Windows Vista Ultimate with SP 1 today in the mail, as is the usual with Mircosoft products, I backed up everything of importance and then took my chances trying to upgrade my XP pro system to VIsta Ultimate. Can you guess what happened? That's right, SOMETHING went wrong, not sure what, but when it was practically done installing, my computer would boot up and I'd see nothing but black and my mouse pointer. It could be because of my Nvidia drivers, perhaps I should have installed the vista …
