Ambition achieved

This is the autobiography of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. She rose from a low income family in the Bronx to become a supreme court justice.

Being from the New Haven area, I was particularly interested in her years at Yale Law School and how she overcame her hesitancy to answer the teacher's questions.

The setting was well described as were the obstacles in Sonia's way but she was determined and overcame every obstacle. I wasn't familiar with her before her appointment to the Supreme Court but this book increased my admiration of her.

The South Bronx has blossomed as a community from the mid -'70s to today. There are rows of well kept private houses and many streets are very clean all of the time. In addition, there is newer public housing. The parks are well kept too. The rebirth didn't happen overnight but it happened.

That's so nice to hear. I remember driving to the Bronx zoo and the flower gardens across the street. That was lovely years ago. Thanks for commenting. Mike
