this is the motto of fat bottom bags....saving the planet 1 bag at a time. what these guys are doing is awesome. Have a look at http://www.fatbottombags.com/ and be inspired. recycling and repurposing is the focus of Fat Bottom Bags. these bags are detrimental to the environment and finding alternative uses for them is an absolute blessing.

christi's dream has become her reality and she has involved 23 other families in her project. she has useful information and tips on how to make your own repurposed bags, as well as getting others involved!

there are trillions of these plastic bags polluting the environment. in south africa we call them "zulu roses". whereever you look you see this wave of plastic bags, like forlorn sheep, roaming through the environment. this endangers wildlife (which is already endangered by urban sprawl) as well as domestic stock. cows, sheep and goats like to eat them for some strange reason.

in recent years, in south africa, we pay for each bag that we purchase. however, people still throw them out and buy new ones, despite the cost. avoid purchasing plastic bags all together by taking your own baskets and cloth bags with you to the supermarket. the next best step is to purchase one of these superb recycled bags from fat bottom bags.

i have a repurposed plastic bag which i have been using for over 15 years. the bag is in in fantastic condition. it is amazing how durable the plastic is once it is plaited and has been matted or crocheted to create something that is useful as well as aesthetically pleasing.
