The Summer Braid is back in full swing and it’s as cute and practical as ever! The french, fishtail, dutch, to bikers braid…they’re all back! If you’re looking for a soft, day wear braid that isn’t too proper and won’t remind people of you in 3rd grade, go with Diane’s braid (shown above) for a side-swiped, breezy look.
Diane’s braid isn’t a French braid—meaning it shouldn’t start at the top of your head. Instead, you begin braiding just above the ear. (As for the fishtail technique, simply break the ponytail into two ropes, take a skinny section from the left and add to the right, then repeat to the ends of your hair.) Finish by twisting a section of hair around the end and pinning in place. This will look more authentic and hand-done…rather than harch and over processed!
