As far as the iPhone is concerned I'm a late adopter. Most of the Apple products I have had either the first generation (except for the iPad, the 2nd generation). When it comes to the iPhone though, I always find that it hadn't reached the standard I demanded of the cellphone, until now. The criteria I was searching for was sleek, light AND thin.

Finally, Apple satisfies my concerns. Still, I think it can be improved further. A 5" screen would be preferable and also may be an overhaul in its design! I personally think Apple can do better with a sweeping change instead of milking its consumers and fans with the many generations of the same product.

Other than that, I'm quite happy with what I got now. It serves its purpose as a phone in its own class.

While I love my iPad more than my iPhone, I'm anxiously looking forward to the launch of iPad mini next month. I'm definitely preordering it this friday!!! As far as the two products are concerned, iPad reigns!

Nice review! All the vendors in the IT field love milking their customers with small changes to the same product. It is a way to keep sales going while they are working in the background on a major redesign.

Thanks, Michael! What you said is true but no one does it for some 5 generations of the same phone! 7th version if you count the 3GS & 4S! Even if Apple is an exception to the rule, it's being competitive that will allow it to stay in the game. By keeping such high prices, Apple is in fact cannibalizing its future iPhone sales. I predict that the iPad will be its best product and contribute more to its bottom line in next 3 years. As for the iPhone, either it has to totally reinvent it or come up with another new product. As it is now, it feels more like an iPad nano with a super turbo camera!

A month on & until iPad Mini arrives (in a week!) ...

It took me almost a month before I got hold of my very first iPhone, ie. the iPhone 5. I did try to make a go for it on its first 2 days of launch on the Apple.com HK site as in that country it is using the lottery/ballot system to determine who get to buy them every day.
