Yann Arthus-Bertrand is a French photographer and an environmentalist. It is through his beautiful photography that we are reminded of the beauty of this world and also how important it is for others to be aware of the beauty of this planet and to exert our utmost effort to keep it a blue (and green) planet! A man who speaks his heart through his images and through his observation. Excellent job!

His perspective, your treasure. Yann takes us across the world, mostly from the above. Sights unseen by most and his photography is not only a sensory delight, it is also inspiring. See it from his eyes and you'll see how lucky we are to live in this beautiful planet and how beautiful Earth is! Awesome!      Official Site: http://www.yannarthusbertrand.org/v2/home_us.htm

About this director

Yann Arthus-Bertrand (born March 13, 1946 in Paris) is a French photographer, journalist, reporter and environmentalist.

He founded the Altitude Agency in 1991, which was the world’s first press agency and images bank specialised in aerial photography (500,000 pictures taken in more than 100 countries by more than 100 photographers).

In 1994 Arthus-Bertrand started a thorough study on the state of the Earth sponsored by UNESCO. Therefore he made a picture inventory of the world’s most beautiful landscapes taken from helicopters and balloons. The book from this project, Earth from Above (‘la Terre vue du ciel’) sold over 3 million copies and was translated into 24 languages.

In 2000, his "Earth from Above" free exhibition was set up on numerous big posters on the gates of Jardins du Luxembourg in Paris. It then travelled worldwide from Lyon to Montreal, to 110 cities and was visited by 120 million people.

In 2008Earth from Above was released on the DVD.
