2009 was not a very good year for me. Without revealing too much, let's just say that I always felt like I was taking one step forward and two steps back as the year plodded along. Thankfully, 2010 was a whole lot nicer to me. Things started turning around in about March of the year and I've been riding a pretty good wave ever since. 2011 looks to be an even better year!
A few highlights of my 2010 experience include paying off my wife's student loan, getting to see my daughter compete with her dance company on a national level, being blown away by the fact that my three year old son is now putting together puzzles with an age range of five to eight on his own, and finally settling in to our new home.
A few less important (but still uplifting) highlights was having the opportunity to witness the New Orleans Saints win their first Super Bowl (via television) after having supported them all of my life, meeting Chase Masterson of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and becoming a board member for a local science fiction convention.
Near the end of the year, one of the biggest highlights was getting to see one of my favorite bands, KISS, live in The Woodlands, TX. It was the first (and hopefully not the last) time I ever got to see them. All of the cards fell in just the right place for this to happen.
With 2011 just around the corner, I plan to have a couple of major bills paid off by mid-year and maybe, just maybe, get to take my family to Disney World in Florida. Although I've been there twice already (on my honeymoon and with our daughter when she was three), my son has not had the chance to experience the magic of Mickey's park in Orlando.
I hope that all of you had a wonderful 2010, and here's to a great 2011!
2010 is almost over. What's it been to me? A pretty fine year. I did quite a bit of traveling (Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Mississippi/Lousianna/Florida/Alabama. the Grand Canyon!), made a lot of progress on my novel (almost done!), started going to college once more (yay! 4.0 GPA!), joined Lunch.com (to which many people said, "So it's a food site?"), and just generally enjoyed life (yay, life!). The only down side has been work. It's been bloody awful, and isn't showing any … more
After 2008 and 2009, 2010 is a more financially stable year. It is however not entirely a peaceful or no calamity year. We have an even basket of events which depends on the part of the world you are living, may be heaven or hell. Let's recap... World Cup & Paul South Africa becomes the first country to hold the FIFA World Cup event. Other historical moments include Spain winning the World Cup and Paul the Psychic Octopus holds the title for the most … more
I'm not a psychic or do I claim to be but I was going to make some predictions for the year 2010. This is politically and otherwise. Octomom doesn't get her reality show as being rumored by the media. She does make the rounds of the talk show circuit plugging her autobiography. Sarah Palin leaves her followers guessing whether or not she's going to run for President in 2012. However, her book is still on the New York Times Best Seller List and she's going on a speaking engagement … more
Despite looking extremely cool, I have to admit that I'm a dork. I grew up on the outskirts of the small town of Oberlin, LA. I have since relocated to the Lake Charles, LA area.I love my home state … more
