A year in review

After 2008 and 2009, 2010 is a more financially stable year. It is however not entirely a peaceful or no calamity year. We have an even basket of events which depends on the part of the world you are living, may be heaven or hell. Let's recap...

World Cup & Paul
South Africa becomes the first country to hold the FIFA World Cup event. Other historical moments include Spain winning the World Cup and Paul the Psychic Octopus holds the title for the most accurate predictions to date.

Expo 2010
Shanghai welcomed more than 70 million visits into the Expo ground by tourists and travelers from all over the world. For 6 months from May 1 to Oct 31, Shanghai was the playground of many visitors. Check out my review on this event and a list of the best pavilions if you have missed it!

BP Oil Spill
I've spilled my aghast about this issue in the review Is it the beginning of an end?!.Please feel free to read it if you haven't already.

Chilean Miners
If you are in search of miracles in life, this is certainly one of it! Having survived some 69 days underground, these miners gave us all hope about the impossible things in life! If you think relationships are hard, then think about surviving this ordeal! Hope triumphs!

Earth Watch
  1. Haiti Earthquake
  2. Iceland Volcanic Eruptions
  3. China Mudslides
  4. Pakistan Floods
The major huge surprises of the year came from natural causes and disasters. The planet has become extremely unstable due to global warming and whatever we humans have subjected it to. As outlined above, many lives were lost except for the Iceland Volcanic eruptions which disrupted air travel for days and had many stranded!

Avatar introduces us to a new way of watching a movie and also a heightened perspective about greed impact on the world's natural resources. For more about Avatar, please check out my review and others' on Lunch.com.

  1. iPhone 4
  2. iPad
Steve Jobs did it again with the intro of iPad & iPhone 4. Apple reigns in 2010 while Google loses its grips in China. Obviously these 2 companies took center stage for the last decade. Do you ever wonder which other companies that are in the making or have the potential to be THE company/companies of the next decade? Twitter? Facebook? LinkedIn? or even Baidu? Interesting times we are in for, isn't it?
How about a list of what's in store in the next 10 years? A flying car, anyone? Or, a life with robots?

There you've it, as the year 2010 and decade come to an end. For me personally, the last 10 years have been out of this world and not once in my life I'd have imagined it the way it was. I bet many feel the same. It's been years of adventures and years of innovations as well as destruction. Hopefully, as 2011 begins, the world will be more peaceful and "colorful". Judging from the tensions we are seeing across the globe, that's going to involve a lot of cooperations and compulsions from many nations and races. God Bless!!!

nice review! The original release of Avatar was in 2009, unless you are referring to the special extended edition in 2010. I need to do one of this after the end of the year. Nice one!

2009 was not a very good year for me.  Without revealing too much, let's just say that I always felt like I was taking one step forward and two steps back as the year plodded along.  Thankfully, 2010 was a whole lot nicer to me.  Things started turning around in about March of the year and I've been riding a pretty good wave ever since.  2011 looks to be an even better year!      A few highlights of my 2010 experience include paying off my wife's …

2010 is almost over. What's it been to me? A pretty fine year. I did quite a bit of traveling (Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Mississippi/Lousianna/Florida/Alabama. the Grand Canyon!), made a lot of progress on my novel (almost done!), started going to college once more (yay! 4.0 GPA!), joined Lunch.com (to which many people said, "So it's a food site?"), and just generally enjoyed life (yay, life!).    The only down side has been work. It's been bloody awful, and isn't showing any …

I'm not a psychic or do I claim to be but I was going to make some predictions for the year 2010. This is politically and otherwise.  Octomom doesn't get her reality show as being rumored by the media.  She does make the rounds of the talk show circuit plugging her autobiography.  Sarah Palin leaves her followers guessing whether or not she's going to run for President in 2012.  However, her book is still on the New York Times Best Seller List and she's going on a speaking engagement …
