Pricey Dress Shoes that are a long term investment

If you have never owned a pair of Ferragamos, it would be kind of elitist of me to say you are missing out, but they are a wise investment. There's no doubt the name carries weight. I've never been a fashion whore and I don't care about designer labels. But, I have two pairs of Ferragamos, and I think they will last about 5-6 years.  The craftsmanship of these shoes is damn near perfect. You can take one look at them and tell some serious effort went into making them. If you look on ebay when people selled their used ones, it's often after about 10 years.

If you really want to push the mileage of these shoes, just go to a shoe repair guy, and have him touch them up after the first year. Then you'll have them back looking good as new. The other thing I love about these, is their classic loafers don't change style, so you only have to buy them once in 5 years.  Although 400 bucks is on the higher end, add up how many pairs of crappy shoes you buy over 5 years, and I think you'll find the price is the same.

I own a pair of Ferragamo sunglasses and a clutch, but I've been on the fence on buying designer shoes of any brand.  If they last 5-6 years though, then it's totally worth it!  I might just be adding Ferragamo shoes to my Guide to Fabulosity.  Thanks for the tip! :D

Great review! The quality is certainly worth the price. Plus, these shoes are a great fashion statement!
