Indredible, yet awful.

I, too, have mixed feelings about bar food. I mean, this is coming from a guy who likes pretty much anything that's bad for you. If there were deep-fried mayo balls, I'd buy them in bulk from Costco.

A lot of people bag on bar foods. But with bar foods, chances are if you're eating them, you're also consuming some form of alcohol, so that's a plus. But then again, you're putting stuff in your body that you'll pay for either within hours or as the years pass. But 'carpe diem,' right?

Still, nothing tops happy hour deals. Fried shrimp, French fries, nachos, fried zucchini, and just about anything else that's bad for you all await your insatiable appetite. My personal favorite is French fries. Just give me a bucket and several condiments, and I'll be the happiest guy at the bar. In fact, just give me anything with Ranch dressing and I'll feel euphoric. After all, if you can eat it with Ranch, you can wash it down with alcohol.

And hey, some classy bars actually serve decent food. Some serve smaller portions of popular dishes, like entire pizzas, for under five bucks. Who could beat that? Does that fall into the same "bar foods" category for rating? Well, yeah, probably, because some dive bars also serve really bad food that just tastes better with every drink you send down. So, it all evens out in the end. And for that, I'll defend bar foods.
