Betty Crocker has done it. She has created heaven in a little red box for the cheap price of $2.99 on sale or $3.69, regularly priced. Two of my favorite junk food addictions/Sunday night on the couch munchies are chocolate chip cookies or really "fudgy" brownies. A little while ago, I happened to find myself in Von's cake mix section (I have NO idea how I ended up there) and there it was, heaven. Betty Crocker and Hershey's Cookie Brownie Bars which mix two of my addictions into one dessert.

WHERE TO BUY THE MIX:
I get mine at Vons but, have seen it at Albertsons as well. I'm sure you can find it in any grocery store chain's cake aisle and sometimes, it's even on sale!

HOW TO MAKE IT:
First, you mix the brownie mix with the prerequisite egg, 2 tbsp. of water and 1/2 stick of  butter/margarine and pour it into your pan- I always use an 8x8 for a thicker brownie. Then, you mix the cookie mix with 1tbsp. of water and 1/2 stick of butter/margarine. After it makes a soft dough, you spoon the cookie mix on top of the brownie mix, put your pan into the oven that's been preheated to 325-degrees Farenheit and wait according to the times on the back of the box. For an 8x8 metallic pan, the wait is around 45 minutes depending on your oven.

BAKING TIP:
If you are as impatient as I am or can never tell just by looking at something that it's done, stick a fork or toothpick in the middle of the pan (at least an inch from the sides). If it comes out clean, then it's ready to pull out of the oven. If it has mixture still stuck to it, unfortunately you have to wait a little longer!

Then, sit back and enjoy a piece of heaven....or the whole darn pan.
