A delicious holiday beverage

Until last night I was one of the only persons on the planet who hadn't tasted egg nog. I know, crazy isn't it! I was kind of turned off by the whole idea. I mean, it's a thick milky beverage and the word "egg" is involved?! Thanks but no thanks.

Lucky for my stomach (and not so lucky for my waistline) I have a person in my life who makes me try new things. With new things there new questions are bound to come up. The first question that I asked was "Isn't there supposed to be alcohol in this thing?!"

Turns out there isn't alcohol in egg nog BUT you can add your own alcohol to it and that's exactly what I did. A little nog, a little rum, a little cinnamon and a little Macaulay Culkin equals one magical Wednesday night.

Oh I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that I was watching Home Alone. But that's not the point. The point is that egg nog is delicious and is to be consumed in moderation. Not because of the alcohol (the more the merrier there) but because of the calories. I honestly don't even want to think of how many I consumed in that merry little glass. Cheers!

Thick, Creamy, Nogg-y Goodness

My favorite part about egg nog (besides egg nog milkshakes) is the fact that it is so thick with creamy, eggy goodness that it coats everything it touches in sticky, fragrant sweetness. I loved it when I was a kid and when someone told me that it could be served with ALCOHOL you can bet I was at the front of the line with a bottle of E&J.
