Kogi BBQ's Short Rib tacos are worth the wait.

Kogi is the new Pinkberry.

The wait was about an hour.  But after the first bite I was hooked.  I am completely addicted to Kogi BBQ and thoughts of these delicious Korean BBQ tacos continues to haunt me days later.

Nightly the Verde y Roja trucks deploy to spots around LA.  Eager foodies queue up anticipating these delectable morsels.  The line snakes around the block.  All of this for ... a taco?  Yes.  One of the most delicious tacos out there.

I have become a little Kogi groupie, frequently checking out their blog, seeing where they are going to be for the week.  Their Tweets sometimes announce "secret" locations.  It's odd seeing that many people huddled around a roach coach, but the ingredients are fresh and the spices are what make it worth the wait, and is a lot better than a lot of Korean BBQ places.  The fillings include: Short Rib; Spicy Pork; Chicken; Tofu.  They have $5 burritos and also sell beverages.  Kogi provides aluminum foil so you can wrap them up to go.  But it's best to eat the tacos right there, while they are still warm.

This is the best $2 taco from a food truck in Los Angeles.

Oh my GAAAD I'm so insanely jealous of you Californians right now. I saw a Good Food video podcast two days ago about this truck, and I am DYING to try it! I'm coming to L.A. in June. See you in line!

I have that same excited feeling I had when I first heard of Momofuku for the first time! Too bad they're only in LA, otherwise I'd be all over this.

Waiting in line is for suckers, but so is waiting for a bar stool
Kogi Kogi Kogi. With three trucks hitting the streets of LA, it’s hard not to ignore the hype that still surrounds these korean-mexcian fusion tacos since their conception almost a year ago. I’ve been following Kogi, and despite the three trucks and diverse locations, I still never have managed to make it to the right spot. Or have been hungry or desperate enough to wait in line.     One night I was peeping the menu online, contemplating organizing a trip the The Brig …

"Seriously, why do people like this place so much?! I hit the Kogi truck this weekend when they were in Culver City for an afternoon appearance. I was pretty excited for it too. I went to the truck once on a Friday night and gave up after seeing the massive line. But the other day I was up for the line.    Thankfully I had good company because the best part of the experience was waiting in line. We cracked jokes and laughed the whole time.  After about an hour and a half …
