Refreshing & Tasty Lime Juice

In this summer & tropical heat, the best thrist quencher (other than my favorite Diet Coke) has to be Lime Juice. Lime can be found almost everywhere in Asia and to a great deal in America. It's frequently associated with lemon but is not lemon and doesn't quite taste like lemon either (for the discerning, that is).

Lime Juice drink can be easily made at home or readily available in many restaurants in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia & Thailand. It is great on its own (simply add water & sugar syrup to it after squeezing the juice) and frequently added to many cocktails (Sangria, Mojito, Margarita, etc...). I recently tried adding a tinge of it to my diet coke and voila, I've got a new version of my favorite drink!

For those who love sugar cane drink (juice), it mixes well with lime juice too. I've tried it at some outlets in Singapore and it's best when served cold! VERY refreshing! It also has a nice aroma to it and whenever I think about it, it makes me salivate! That's how powerful this drink could be.

Lime Juice is also great with barbecue (or fried chicken wings) and makes it a special cocktail (virgin) when served in a cocktail or martini glass. Try it, you'd be surprised at how much your guests will appreciate at your barbeque especially now.

Another way you can use lime is to mix it with honey in concentrate. You may also use lemon. This is great for cough and to clear up phlegm. But make sure it's concentrated dosage and don't add sugar to it! (In this case, lemon is probably a better choice as there are more juice out of each lemon than lime; less squeezing!)

Mmmmm, I love lime juice drinks just as much as I love my lemon juice drinks!  When I don't need coffee, I always order a lime-y drink at Vietnamese restaurants :)

Yes, this one is great! Next time, if you can get it where you are, try the sugar cane juice with some lime or lemon. Awesome!

I love fresh squeezed limes as a drink. Limeade is delicious. Such a refreshing drink and taste. I sometimes put a slice of lime in iced water. It adds to the entire experience. Limes forever!

About this food

Limeade (sometimes called Lime-en-ade) is a beverage similar to lemonade, but is made with lime juice or lime flavor(s) instead of those of the lemon. A.G. Barr plc, of Glasgow produce a limeade which is somewhat popular in Scotland, and Newman's Own introduced its own brand of limeade in 2004. Most major beverage companies now offer their own brand of limeade, with Minute Maid even introducing a Cherry Limeade drink in response to the popularity of Limeade.

A carbonated version is often made of 7up mixed with the juice of several limes. Sonic Drive-In uses Sprite instead of 7up to create its popular limeade.

It is one of the most popular drinks in India and Pakistan and is known as nimbu paani or limbu pani; lemon can also be used for nimbu paani.
