Pocky; an addicting necessity.

Pocky is one of those addicting snacks that everyone can't get enough of. This highly popular treat consists of a biscuit stick dipped in some kind of flavoring. Pocky originated in Japan where it made billions of yen the first few years back in the late 60's. Even now, Pocky is still sold by a ton and doesn't seem to ever start fading it's popularity.

Pocky has a kazillion of flavors. Okay, maybe not a kazillion but the point still stands. From basic chocolate dipped pocky to the ever-so-popular almond crush ...the variety seems to keep growing and growing. Many popular flavors for the delicious treats are strawberry, men's chocolate, mousse, honey, and the awkard milk and tomato flavors. Banana and green tea are other flavors, too. The list goes on and on. As Pocky became more popular, other types started popping up like the decorer pocky which bases the flavoring on cakes and other sweets.

There are a lot of other Japanese snacks that base their products off of Pocky. Toppo being one of them has the flavor in the inside rather than the outside. There is also Pretz; a snack just like pocky only with a pretzel stick.

So with all the huge variety on flavors, it's no surprise how popular Pocky can be. The surprise was when I started seeing the product at common stores like Costco and Walgreens. Long live Pocky!

I love Pocky! The Japanese really love their sweets. You should check out www.jlist.com. They carry a bunch of Japanese snacks, including Pocky, directly from Japan, so you never run out of options.

I love Pocky! I lived off it, and Hello Panda, when I was in college. They're packed so neatly and are fun to share with everyone! Glad I found someone else out there who is just as passionate as I am... haha!
