I've literally tried every nutrition bar out there. As a competitive swimmer in college, my trainer recommended Balance Bars and before that my coach was all about high protein bars like METRx and Power Bar. I absolutely hated the artificial taste and strange texture, but I'd choke them down anyway hoping to never have to encounter another over priced and over sized "health" bar again. I've been avoiding them ever since and it wasn't until I was offered a free sample of a SoyJoy bar at a yoga festival that I was open to the idea that there would ever be another nutrition bar in my life. Free samples do that to me, I guess!
Here's why SoyJoy is worth giving a try. First off, it's just the right size. Too many nutrition bars are WAY too big, packing far more calories and protein than is really necessary for the average person. It's also made using soy protein rather than whey, which is hard to find in other bars on the market. Plant proteins are sadly underrated in the nutrition world! SoyJoy bars are free of hydrogenated oils or artificial flavors (which means it tastes REAL) and it's also gluten free. It's made from soy, fruit, eggs, red bean paste, butter and sugar and baked to perfection. Read the back of a METRx bar label and you'll see why those ingredients are refreshing to read! My favorite flavors are Berry and Mango Coconut, but they have four other flavors to choose from including Raisin Almond, Apple Walnut, Strawberry and Peanut Chocolate Chip.
I think I like this bar mostly because it tastes like a healthy homemade treat and at only 130 calories, it's perfect to satisfy a midday craving. Sure, eating a piece of fruit would suffice, but there's something so comforting about having a slightly sweet baked treat that you don't need to feel guilty about. To further entice you, here is a coupon for $1 off. Give it a try, you just might like it!
These little health bars were alright, I even bought them twice. Then they quickly got old, not to mention expensive. The bars are tiny, but they are dense - hence pretty filling for their size. I just needed some healthy snack for mid morning and late afternoon at work, they worked great until I realized they were too expensive. I later replaced them with raw nuts. They have six flavors, I had the mango coconut, it is quite particular and I don't think everyone would like it. The unadulterated … more
SoyJoy bars are simply not that good. Not that good, that is, if you want something that has a little flavor and doesn't taste like cardboard. I am sure SoyJoy is a pretty healthy snack but it doesn't do much for the taste buds. The peanut chocolate chip flavor is one of the best and most edible of the SoyJoy bars I have tried. It's still rather dry, bland, and boring, but at least it has a slight decent flavor and I don't find myself choking it down reluctantly … more
