An All Natural Sweetener that leaves a bad taste in your mouth!

This "all natural" sweetener is made up of a combination of Sugar and Stevia. This product seems to have a good concept... but when it comes to taste, it fails pretty bad. One of the major drawbacks of "sugar substitutes" is that they too often suffer from the very scientifically termed "weird bitter after-taste" effect ;)

I was hoping this product would be different and that the 'partial sugar make-up' of the product would get rid of this problem. I was wrong. Apart from the texture resembling "sugar", it tastes just as off-putting as 'Sweet-and-Low' and other sugar substitutes. I even tried it in my coffee, hoping that strong coffee could mask the bitterness. Again, I was wrong...  I gave it 3 stars (instead of 2) because it's comparable to other sugar substitutes out there.

Looks like you're not the only Luncher who thinks this taste funky!  Thanks for the review, I'm sticking with my Splenda :)

I decided to try Sun Crystals since I cannot stand Sweet n' Low, or Splenda, or pretty much any other sugar substitute. I normally just skip sugar altogether and that has been working pretty well.       I only made it through a few packets of this stuff and had a very unpleasant taste in my mouth for the rest of the day. I think I had to dump at least 4 packets in my tea to notice any sweetness, but the bitter taste still overpowered it. I can't even describe the exact taste …

Sun Crystals is a combination of cane sugar and the plant-based sweetener stevia and has 5 calories per packet. Each packet is said to be equivalent as a sweetener to two teaspoons of sugar (30 calories). My wife and I tried it at home and then I brought the rest in to work, put it out at the office coffee station, and encouraged coworkers to try it and let me know what they thought.    If I had left it with just myself and my wife, I'd rate this item "no stars". I don't like …

Sun Crystals, per the packaging, is an all-natural sweetener made of a blend of pure cane sugar and naturally sweet stevia. Each box contains 50 packets. Each packet has 5 calories, 1 gram of sugars and 1 gram of total carbs. The box says that 1 packet = the sweetness of 2 tsp. sugar.    To put this product to the test, I tried Sun Crystals four ways:  1. In a hot beverage (hot tea).  2. In a cold beverage (iced tea).  3. Right out of the packet …

For several years I've tried to like stevia. My primary finding was that "less is more". Using a tiny bit of stevia can work well, but just a bit too much and yuck, there comes that nasty bitter taste.    The Sun Crystals packets are a very nice stevia product with just a hint of sugar to take the edge off the stevia. I used to dump a lot of sugar into my tea, but one packet of Sun Crystals is all that is necessary. This is the first stevia product I've found where I don't need …
