Twisted Lands is a big cauldron of stew and as you stir the pot and peer into its depths for hidden objects you'll confront zombies, creepy ghosts and even a cloaked cult. The graphic work is of the highest order and this successor to "Snark Busters" is worthy of Alawar (the producers). As in all casual games of this type you have to be an expert handyman, repairing fuses, replacing gears, tightening up a leaky fire hydrant and much more. Sparkles will tell you a new cache for hidden objects is there and you will collect tools and icons, door handles and a myriad of other stuff which you have to use somewhere on something.
Twisted is a very polished performance, the environments are expertly done from fog-enshrouded trees, to waves lapping at the shore, to spooky caverns and rooms piled with junk to an amazing submarine waiting for you to rev up and escape the Twisted Land- if you can.
The story is intriguing and the ending is a humdinger. You will spend the game searching for your wife, Angel, after your boat has washed up and crushed on a strange shore. You will find personal diaries of people who have inhabited the weird island where you're mired, and their ghosts will slither into many scenes, blue-tinted and ethereal. The music will help you get into a chilled mood, the cadences whispering, insinuating, hovering there like a miasma.
You will have to backtrack many times and explore areas you have already visited, but with a different set of hidden objects. However, I did not mind at all visiting the same scenes again as I just like to meander around and it's mind boggling how the designers manage to cram so many objects into a scene. There are no roses to smell, but there's much to engage your senses and keep your hands busy collecting stuff. The mini-games are hard enough to be fun but not excruciatingly difficult, with no stuffers like jigsaws and connecting pipes or matching pairs. This game is a class act!
