I was lucky enough to get to stay at the Four Seasons Punta Mita recently and it was simply amazing.
The Rooms: Our room was really nice but not over the top. I have been to some new resorts with really elaborate and overly “themed” rooms but this is far from that. The rooms are elegant and simple while still being luxurious. I especially love the soaking tub! They also provide products by L’Occitane which add to the luxury.
The Service: Hands down some of the best service I have encountered. Ever. The staff members are kind and gracious, they genuinely seem to love their jobs. My husband chatted with some of the employees and asked them how they liked their jobs and they said that the Four Seasons is known to be one of the nicest places to work in Punta Mita/Puerto Vallarta. They said the salaries are higher than other resorts and that most employees stay there for 5+ years. This is reflected in everyone’s attitude and makes this resort stand out from any one I have been to.
The Pool/Beach/View: I scoured the resort’s website before our trip and had expectations about the amenities and view. This is the first time I can say that the pictures didn’t do the place justice and I was blown away. The pool(s) are all awesome, the view is spectacular and there is no bad place to relax in the entire resort. The main pool overlooks a full ocean view which somehow changed everyday depending on the weather and sun position. It was like swimming with a watercolor backdrop behind you. Simply amazing! The Lazy River was so fun and one of our favorite spots- perfect for kids and parents (they have a full bar) and serve meals. The adult pool was my least favorite because there was no view. While it offered seclusion and privacy, it lacked value compared to the main pool. The beach is private and has really comfy cabanas. The ocean was possibly even warmer than the pool and so inviting.
Price: I don’t feel right commenting on this because I got a great deal thanks to the wedding we went for. With all the taxes and fees I paid $1,200 for four nights, which during peak season could probably be the cost for 1 or 2 nights. It is expensive, but worth it. Hunt for deal and go off season- it is still awesome and a better value.*update: we also got the free breakfast which is a $90 value, making this the ultimate deal. No matter what you, negotiate the free breakfast if you can!
Dining: Four Seasons properties are expensive resorts and so is the food. BUT sometimes splurging while on vacation is fun and I can say everything we ate was worth every penny we paid. Aramara is the Japanese Mexican fusion restaurant and was so tasty! We have five or six small plates and were really full and satisfied. We also ate poolside at the Nuna restaurant which offered great sandwiches and burgers. Although a $30 burger can be daunting, we found that sharing the food was really the way to go. They split the plates for you and the portions are really big enough for two! We were also lucky enough to get a complimentary breakfast buffet as part of our stay which was very lavish and full of choices. Each one better than the next! You will eat well at the Four Seasons, no matter where you go. *One tip- there aren’t a ton of snack choices, mostly meals, so my husband and I packed a box of energy bars and cracker packs which were perfect for poolside snacks and saving some $$$.
Overall: There isn’t enough room for me to explain how pleasant our experienced at the Four Seasons Punta Mita was. All I know is I will definitely be back and will recommend it to everyone I meet!
This place is REALLY nice. Not just nice for Mexico... it's nice for anywhere. My pictures really don't do it justice, nor do most of the pictures i've seen online... it's really beautiful down there. This has become my favorite spot in Mexico. I haven't spent a ton of vacation time in Mexico. Mostly, because I didn't know places like this existed "down there." I'm a Hawaii guy, and will probably always be. BUT, if you're up for a little more adventure, and you like consuming Mexican food, tequila, and beer while staying at a luxury resort...well, this place will not disappoint. The service was impeccable. I don't have a single complaint. My room was fine - I should have sprung for the room on the second floor … more
