Simply Amazing- The Perfect Vacation Destination

I was lucky enough to get to stay at the Four Seasons Punta Mita recently and it was simply amazing.

The Rooms: Our room was really nice but not over the top. I have been to some new resorts with really elaborate and overly “themed” rooms but this is far from that. The rooms are elegant and simple while still being luxurious. I especially love the soaking tub! They also provide products by L’Occitane which add to the luxury.

The Service: Hands down some of the best service I have encountered. Ever. The staff members are kind and gracious, they genuinely seem to love their jobs. My husband chatted with some of the employees and asked them how they liked their jobs and they said that the Four Seasons is known to be one of the nicest places to work in Punta Mita/Puerto Vallarta. They said the salaries are higher than other resorts and that most employees stay there for 5+ years. This is reflected in everyone’s attitude and makes this resort stand out from any one I have been to.

The Pool/Beach/View: I scoured the resort’s website before our trip and had expectations about the amenities and view. This is the first time I can say that the pictures didn’t do the place justice and I was blown away. The pool(s) are all awesome, the view is spectacular and there is no bad place to relax in the entire resort. The main pool overlooks a full ocean view which somehow changed everyday depending on the weather and sun position. It was like swimming with a watercolor backdrop behind you. Simply amazing! The Lazy River was so fun and one of our favorite spots- perfect for kids and parents (they have a full bar) and serve meals. The adult pool was my least favorite because there was no view. While it offered seclusion and privacy, it lacked value compared to the main pool. The beach is private and has really comfy cabanas. The ocean was possibly even warmer than the pool and so inviting.

Price: I don’t feel right commenting on this because I got a great deal thanks to the wedding we went for. With all the taxes and fees I paid $1,200 for four nights, which during peak season could probably be the cost for 1 or 2 nights. It is expensive, but worth it. Hunt for  deal and go off season- it is still awesome and a better value.*update: we also got the free breakfast which is a $90 value, making this the ultimate deal. No matter what you, negotiate the free breakfast if you can!

Dining: Four Seasons properties are expensive resorts and so is the food. BUT sometimes splurging while on vacation is fun and I can say everything we ate was worth every penny we paid. Aramara is the Japanese Mexican fusion restaurant and was so tasty! We have five or six small plates and were really full and satisfied. We also ate poolside at the Nuna restaurant which offered great sandwiches and burgers. Although a $30 burger can be daunting, we found that sharing the food was really the way to go. They split the plates for you and the portions are really big enough for two! We were also lucky enough to get a complimentary breakfast buffet as part of our stay which was very lavish and full of choices. Each one better than the next! You will eat well at the Four Seasons, no matter where you go. *One tip- there aren’t a ton of snack choices, mostly meals, so my husband and I packed a box of energy bars and cracker packs which were perfect for poolside snacks and saving some $$$.

Overall: There isn’t enough room for me to explain how pleasant our experienced at the Four Seasons Punta Mita was. All I know is I will definitely be back and will recommend it to everyone I meet!

Four Seasons has always been one of the top 10 in the hospitality industry. I'd love to try out their spa, is there one here? There ought to be...

awesome review Rhea!! thanks for sharing it!! in your price bullet point, you might want to mention the free breakfast at $90 bucks a room. Did they get that comped properly??
August 27, 2010
Great point! Yes it was a $90 value and totally comped. They did a great job itemizing all the incidentals. Thank you for being such a great negotiator!

Wow, this sounds absolutely ~*divine*~ :D  That's very cool about the amenities and how many of their employees are there for the long term -- gotta love that!  You should totally follow the Unique Hotels community and add your review there!  Thanks for sharing :)

I couldn't't decide whether to comment on this review or to do my own and because you did such a good job of summing it up I will simply add two of my highlights.... both including food.

1) Fish Taco's -  GREAT!!!! Served poolside & I mean we literally stood in the pool and ate the taco's.
2) The Chiliquilles off the breakfast menu were killer.  Choice of Red or Green, pollo or huevos and a glass one of the resorts 5 fresh daily juices.
August 27, 2010
Great additions! Also how on earth did I miss the Chiliquilles?!? Guess I have to go back and try them :)

i missed them too. I think you needed to order them "off the buffet" menu. Next time ;)

This place is REALLY nice.  Not just nice for Mexico... it's nice for anywhere.  My pictures really don't do it justice, nor do most of the pictures i've seen online... it's really beautiful down there.  This has become my favorite spot in Mexico.      We stayed there just one night while we were checking it out for our upcoming wedding.  Although we aren't having our wedding at the Four Seasons, most of our guest will be staying there.   …

This Hotel Inspired my new LIFE GOAL
I've been to a few Four Seasons; San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Maui, and the incredible George V in Paris.  For the last few years I had been hearing about the Four Seasons in Punta Mita from friends who had been there and, therefore, I had been dying to go.  Well, thanks to our friends who chose an incredible destination for their wedding...I made it!!   Four Seasons Punta Mita does not disappoint!!  But then, again, Four Seasons has never once disappointed me.  …

Lush tropical paradise!
We often travel to Mexico, Hawaii and the Caribbean, but in our travels have yet to find a place quite like the Four Seasons Punta de Mita.   From arrival to departure they made our stay effortless...       Arriving   My family(wife and two sons (6 weeks and 3 years old)) recently traveled to Punta de Mita for my sisters wedding.   We started our vacation at this hotel arriving late (10pm) on a Tuesday evening in mid August.  Upon arriving at …

Seaside hammock heaven
Imagine yourself lounging in a hammock, being tickled by the warm Mexican Rivera breezes, and being lulled to by the sound of the Pacific Ocean crashing onto rocks below you.  This is what you will find when you stay at the Four Seasons Punta Mita.      Rumored to be the best Four Seasons in the world, this resort, which sits 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, is set in a 400-acre nature preserve on a private peninsula just northwest of Puerto Vallarta on the …

I haven't spent a ton of vacation time in Mexico. Mostly, because I didn't know places like this existed "down there." I'm a Hawaii guy, and will probably always be. BUT, if you're up for a little more adventure, and you like consuming Mexican food, tequila, and beer while staying at a luxury resort...well, this place will not disappoint. The service was impeccable. I don't have a single complaint. My room was fine - I should have sprung for the room on the second floor …
