Bill Simmons, aka the "Sports Guy" is the best and funniest sportswriter in the nation.  While he's known as the Sports Guy, that name really doesn't do him justice, as he's an excellent commentator/critic of movies, television, celebrity, and wannabe celebrities.  In fact, I'd say he's one of the nations leading commentators on all things pop culture.   If it wasn't illegal, he'd be an expert on gambling (table games, as well as sports gambling).  What sets him …

Bill Simmons is my favorite columnist and his columns provide critical analysis and deep humor. He writes for ESPN.com and ESPN the Magazine and you can find his writings at the Sport's Guy's World. Bill Simmons has a Twitter account with over 384,000 followers and is the host of The B.S. Report Podcast hosted on ESPN.com

He is also a columnist and podcaster for Page 2 on ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine. He was formerly known as "The Boston SportsGuy" but, is now known simply as "The Sports Guy". He uses extended analogies to pop culture throughout his sports reporting.

HIGHLIGHTS OF BILL SIMMONS' CAREER: 

On October 1, 2005, he released his first book, Now I Can Die In Peace which is a collection of his columns leading up to the 2004 World Series victory of the Boston Red Sox.

On April 19, 2006- Simmons defeated Bernie Mac in the NBA Cares Celebrity Fantasy League with a score of 1028-852. He said that he won due to his extensive NBA knowledge and acknowledged Kobe Bryant as part of the reason he won.

In July 2008, he announced that he would be taking time off to finish his second book out, The Book of Basketball, The NBA According to the Sports Guy which will be released October 27, 2009.
