I worked here at the Tower from 1986-1989 and loved the interior and exterior of the building. I worked in the Accounting Department on the tenth floor. I remember feeling a major earthquake while there and going down all the stairs to the lobby.
It was a wonderful experience to see gold records on the walls in the lobby and finding musicians in the elevator. I had the pleasure of delivering a check to Harry Belafonte in the studio and received a pair of tickets to his concert at the Hollywood Bowl.
I had 9th row seats for a David Bowie concert in Irvine and noticed that Whoopi Goldberg was in the row behind me. I was able to see Bob Seger, Tina Turner, Robert Palmer in concert. There was a concert in the parking lot for the employees by Duran Duran in 1986 that was just awesome.
Employees had great working hours, no dress code, smoking was still allowed in offices and one time Rick Dees aired his radio show from the rooftop, which I got to take part in. Howard Stern had a big show across the street at the old Palace parking lot. One time I heard on the radio that George Michael was down the street spotted getting ice cream so I ran out of the building and down Vine Street in hopes of getting a glimpse of him.
