I'm sure that even in Walt Disney's wildest dreams he could have never imagined that his classic 1955 adventure ride into the world of pirates would spawn some of the most popular Disney movies to date. Designed with some of the most advanced technology of the time, Disneyland's pirates of the Caribbean ride was one of the most popular rides on opening day. located Disneyland's New Orleans square passengers enter the ride in pirate ship life boats and are instantly transported into the world of pirates. the entire ride appears to be in the nighttime. The result of a clever trick on Walt's part, the entire ride really has a false ceiling complete with light clouds and stars that can be faintly seen in the midnight sky. Your boat then takes you down a small waterfall to the realm where "dead men tell no tales." When riders go down the waterfall they are actually taken slightly underground through a scene that is built underneath of the buildings of New Orleans Square. The temperature even drops slightly to give the riders that at sea feeling. You are then immersed with one scene of pirate life after another from beginning to end. You go through a secret treasure hiding spot, the same one used in the Curse of the Black Pearl as the treasure on the island DE motra, and the cursed Aztec treasure chest has since been added to the ride. you also see a jail cell scene with people waiving keys at the dog that has become so popular in the films. There is an area that was used as a replica for the port of Tortuga in the films that since has had jack sparrows likeness added to it. Riders are carried through a real gunfight where a pirate ship is opening fire on a port town (sound familiar??) the captain on the pirate ship has since been replaced with captain Barbarossa likeness. the really cool thing about this part of the ride is that the riders can actually hear cannons booming. see the red flashed as they hit the water and get splashed by the explosions. The last part of the ride is one of my favorites where your boat sails past a group of pirates buying wives at the "wench auction." This is the part that has the infamous "yo-ho" pirate song in it. Some members of the more mature audience may notice that the pirate song has changed. A few years ago, i believe it was before the first movie came out, enough people wined and complained and finally made Disney remove the line in the song "we rape, pillage and plunder" because they found it offensive. Come on people the are freaking pirates don't act so naive that we don't know what pirates were famous for. Have we really become a more conservative society that we were in the 50's? I think not! OK now that i got that off my chest time for an interesting Disney fact! The automatron pirates that were and still are used in the rides were the worlds first automatrons! Created by Disney imagineers specifically for this ride these machines were later used in many many Hollywood movies for many years. And this concludes my review of one of Disneyland's greatest rides...makes you wanna take a trip to the Magic Kingdom dosen't it?

A great summary for what is the classic Disney theme park adventure. I truly look forward one day to visiting the west coast original, but for now I'll just settle for WDW Pirates every trip I make.

Pirates of the Caribbean is located in Disney World's Magic Kingdom, well at least the one I've reviewing! It had to be one of the most beloved and favorite rides in any Disney World park and has recently been updated to showcase the movies that it inspired, Pirates takes you on a journey through the life of a pirate. From the raiding and pillaging to ship battles and even to jail, Pirates of the Caribbean offers one of the most fun and exciting ‘dark ride’ experiences ever. The ride …

One of our families “must do’s” at the Magic Kingdom is definitely the Pirates of the Caribbean. With the popularity of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and the recent renovations to the ride, it is a ride which can be enjoyed by all.       Davy Jones, himself, welcomes each and every new pirate and warns about the perils which may lie ahead.  You are then whisked through a wild journey into the world of pirates including …

Pros: Anamatronic figures; No line; Fun to watch     Cons: Not very thrilling; You're in trouble if the ride breaks down...     Today, Dionne25 I visited the Magic Kingdom. As those of you that read my review on the Test Track Pavilion, I separated my shoulder yesterday evening. We didn't have a chance to go through all of Epcot, and didn't even come near the Magic Kingdom, so we crammed as much as we could into today.      This is a classic …
