A low horsepower flop...

I was so excited when this movie came out because i was such a fan of the first one, it was edgey, fast pased and high octane. So when i saw this one, i was more than disappointed. It hardly qualified as a "car movie" more of an action movie with a couple of car scenes. Now ex-cop brian o'connel (paul walker) gets picked up in a street race and is offered a chance to clear his record by taking a job as a driver for a local drug lord. He brings his childhood friend played by Tyrese. I actually like Tyrese in some of his other films, but in this one its like hes not even trying and he comes off like an idiot duck out of water. Walker gives an average preformance, no better or worse than his job in the first movie. Eva Mendes makes an appearance as an undercover fbi agent/girlfriend to the drug lord, i usually am not a fan of her, but eaither the other acting in this movie was so bad that she really shined or she gave an amazing preformance. Suprisingly my best actor of the movie award has to go to rapper turned actor Ludachris, he embodied his role whole heartedly and i thought he was really into the role. Unlike the first fast and the furious movie, this movies plot wasnt car based, and really other than to actual "street races" the plot focuses on the drug lord. It was pretty disappointing for those of us who were ready to see something more focused on the street racing world. I personally didnt find the cars in this movie to be nearly as impressive. I should say the importa wernt as impressive because the show of american muscle was pretty hot! As far as imports go though other than Walkers silver nissan skyline, and his green mitsubishi evo, the rest of them were kind of weak, that may be duse to the fact that the other cara are only actually in the film for about 10mins. I will say that as bad as this movie is, the franchise does redeem its self with Fast&Furious, and Tokyo Drift, apparently film makers realised that people want to watch racing movies for the cars.

For me, this was alright. Have you seen the latest movie? That was insanely action-packed. I also liked Tokyo Drift since it reminded me of "Initial D". Nice one, Meghan.

I havnt seen fast 5 yet, tokyo drift was my favorite second to the origional, but i think that might be cuz my girly side kicks in and vin diesel is not only perfect for his role but drop dead sexy as well lol.
