The final film of the Mick Travis trilogy.

Britannia Hospital is a weird farcical film about a hospital staffed with union workers, an oddball medical staff and unruly patients.  Mick Travis (Malcolm McDowell) is a snooping reporter who's out to get some exclusive dirt on the insane Professor Millar (last seen in O Lucky Man performing some bizarre and unethical experiments).  The hospital's administrator Vincent Potter has his hands full with the unruly staff, angry patients, protesters outside threatening to crash the facility's gates and the arrival of the Queen Mother.  This crazy movie however targets not only the Maggie Thatcher administration but the country's health care system and foreign policy.  Anarchy ensues as everything comes crashing down but ending on a strangely pessimistically profound note.

The movie ends the  Mick Travis trilogy.  Mary McLeod along with Malcolm McDowell, Graham Crowden, Peter Jeffrey and Arthur Lowe appear in all three films of the series.  I heard some mixed reviews about this film but I found it to be very entertaining.  Not as brilliant as O Lucky Man but I have to recommend this film as well just to find out what happens to Mick Travis.  Watch for Mark Hamill's bit part.  Looks like he's been living the HIGH life.
The final film of the Mick Travis trilogy. The final film of the Mick Travis trilogy. The final film of the Mick Travis trilogy. The final film of the Mick Travis trilogy.

The third and final film of the Mick Travis trilogy.

Due to the film's low budget, several actors including Malcolm McDowell waived their usual salary to appear in the film.
