A bad remake from producer Wes Craven.

Carnival of Souls (1998) has to be one the worst remakes I have ever seen. I was surprised that it took two directors to make this movie. It's bad enough they had to pick on a classic horror film to remake but they didn't even bother to make it watchable. Wes Craven has produced a lot of bad movies recently. They're either too weak to be classified as horror or safe enough to be shown on the Lifetime Channel. Don't Look Down for example.

The Carnival of Souls remake is just bad. The filmmakers should renamed the film something else because it is unworthy of being called Carnival of Souls. It bares very little resemblance to the original film and it's full of cheap shocks, cliches and thrills (unlike the original). If you encounter this movie either on the television turn the channel or if you spot a copy of it on DVD at the video store I suggest you walk the other way. This movie is that bad.  Not even Bobbie Phillips or Shawnee Smith can save this turkey.

Gobble-gobble.
