Obviously Ghost In The Shell Innocence is no doubt one of the best films of the year but why is it getting so many bad reviews? Because this DVD is an insult to fans and this should have never been released so unfinished. There are no special features, nothing you would expect to get come in this DVD so your basically paying a bunch of cash just for the film and you get nothing else.

Some people don't like to read subtitles and some don't care but watching this film with subtitles makes it seem too long and boring so it's obvious they should have put in some extra effort and made English audio with the actors from the series. I have watched plenty of anime and other films with subtitles and had no problem reading them but G.I.T.S innocence is really a movie that needs English audio. Hearing Batou's voice from the stand-alone complex would have been more exciting and edgy.

Besides that the film is amazing, the animation is so realistic and sharp that if someone walked in and started watching they would swear you were watching a real life movie. The story is sharp and creative plus there's a little surprise that will make fans happy. At first I wasn't sure if Batou was going to be able to hold this film together but he sure did give a heck of a performance. He's no Major but he packs a mean punch and his gunplay is sick. The movie is fine and it is a sure classic it's worth it for the animation alone but as hard working paying fans people should know this is one of the crappiest DVD's you could ever buy so I suggest to buy it when it is on sale or in a discount store.

I only saw this once six years ago, and it's not worth watching again.      This is a really poor sequel to the magnificent Ghost in the Shell.  Despite the stronger emphasis on action than the first film, it's a really boring film as there was less emphasis on plot, theme, or character development and a HEAVY emphasis on quoting religious and philosophical quotes just to make itself seem like a "smart" film.  Despite the gorgeous visuals and competent …

About this movie

Wiki

Mamoru Oshii's landmarkGhost in the Shell(1995) largely defined the cyberpunk genre and influenced theMatrixfilms in the U.S. The long-awaited sequel continues the adventures of Batou, Major Kusanagi's former assistant, who was left behind when she disappeared into the cyber-realm of the Net. With his new human partner, Togusa, Batou investigates a series of bloody murders involvinggynoids, robots with sexual functions. The case leads them to the headquarters of the Locus Solus company, where Batou uncovers the evil secret behind the creation of thegynoids.Innocenceincludes some staggeringly beautiful CG images, especially a parade depicting characters from Chinese mythology. Oshii contrasts this glittering beauty with aBlade Runner-esque dystopia. But even his skill as a director can't disguise the fact that the underdeveloped story and flat characters are far less interesting than the opulent visuals. (Rated PG-13: graphic violence, violence against women, brief nudity, profanity, alcohol and tobacco use.)--Charles Solomon
