I've watched quite a few slasher flicks in my day. I've never been a huge fan of them, but the "Halloween" movies always seemed to be a step up from the rest. With that said, "Halloween: Resurrection" is one of the better sequels in this series. Sure, it's a bit silly at times, but even the silly parts work in this film.

The story is primarily set in the Myers' household on Halloween night. An internet-based entertainment company, represented by Busta Rhymes and Tyra Banks, invites a group of teenagers to spend an evening in the home. The idea is that they must spend a night in the house and anyone who makes it through the night is awarded with a scholarship and internet screen time. To try and scare them away, Rhymes has a few tricks up his sleeve(including dressing up as ol' Mikey himself).

There is a brief appearance by Jamie Lee Curtis in this flick which is rather unceremonious. However, it's fun to see that she and her sibling still love one another after all these years. After the cameo, we are introduced to a small band of teens at a Halloween party watching the action on the internet. One of the teens has a softspot for one of the victims in the film. Naturally, he helps her via the internet by telling her where Michael Myers is hiding out in the house.

Though most of the acting is modest at best, you'll recognize at least two of the victims in the house. One of them is the boring kid from the "American Pie" series. He basically plays the same boring and annoying character except this time he's a little bit more aggressive with the ladies. The other guy you'll recognize is the college man off of the "Barbershop" flicks. His character is one of the more entertaining ones to watch. For SciFi channel fans, Katiee Sackhoff will look familiar. She's Starbuck on the new "Battlestar Galactica" series. Of course, there is also the aforementioned Tyra Banks and Busta Rhymes, who gives the best performance in the flick. He's downright funny at times and when he get medieval on Mikey, it's hilarious.

In all, this isn't a very shabby movie. It isn't the best flick in the series, but it is better than most of the other slasher sequels out there. Recommended to "Halloween" fans and slasher fans in general, but I'd rent it before I'd buy it.

Amazing or Awful…it is a question of perception
I remember seeing this movie when it first came out oh so many moons ago.  My friend was (and is) a Halloween fanatic and wanted to see this flick.  I figured I was game and said I would go see it with him.  Now when I watched the movie back 2002, god has it been 10 years already, I did not think to highly of this film.  Actually, I thought it was a piece of crap.       A decade has gone by and I have been adding movies to my slasher collection.  …

I THOUGHT IT WAS FUN
      HALLOWEEN RESURRECTION         spoliers      When reviewing this film it is necessary to look at it from all angles. It's another sequel, the end of a legacy, and has a great idea in it. We'll start with the sequel thing, yes it was another in a long ongoing series. And yes some thought there should never have been another film following "HALLOWEEN H2O". Now this is far from a classic and I would not put it at the top of a best of list or anything, still with the brain off it is fun. Plus it is a "Halloween" film and one of the later ones at that so why any one would expect a classic is beyond me. With that said still I loved the idea and found the performances fun for the most part. Plus any time I get to seeMichael kill off some people I am happy.

Halloween: Resurrection (2002) was directed by Rick Rosenthal (Bad Boys) who also helmed the second film in the series. Yet, he suffered the same fate as Part Two. He was a victim of re-shoots and re-editing. The producers were not satisfied with the final product so they ordered him to heavily re-shoot most of the film. Number 8 in theHalloweenline maintains connections to John Carpenter's original.Resurrectionpicks up the thread ofHalloween: H2O, with poor Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) now in a psychiatric hospital and determined to shut down homicidal Michael Myers once and for all. After this prologue, the story shifts to the old Myers house, where a TV reality show has enticed six teenagers to spend a single night in the spooky home. Needless to say, things are spoiled when Michael barges in: "Isodid not sign up for this," sighs the young heroine, when the bloodletting begins.
