130 minutes of insecure whining that makes both men and women look pathetic. And then there's the Mac Guy! "Hey, Mac Guy!"

First off, when did matinee for movies start costing $8.75?? Maybe I was spoiled with $4 Tuesday movies in my college town.. but what in the!  I liked the book - but to be perfectly honest, I didn't finish reading it because the stories just got repetitive after a while.  I did however, thoroughly enjoy the movie.  + Gigi was SO awkward in this movie that I cringed every time she had a "lightbulb moment" or a new idea on how to reel in another guy. One of my favorites: …

"If a guy doesn't call you, he doesn't want to call you."       Short Attention Span Summary (SASS):     1. Two characters are desperately looking for love in the right places, but with the wrong guys.   2. One character is in love with another character, who's just not that into him.   3. One is married, but infatuated with another, who's also infatuated with him.   4. Two are living together, but only one of them wants …

Is  He's Just Not That Into You a predictable chick flick, or does this movie have something important to say about contemporary relationships?     You will probably have to decide that for yourself, but I found it watchable—I must have, because I saw it twice at the theatre, and I bought the DVD!—but then, that's me. If I don't expect too much from a film, and if there is a cast of exceptional actors, then I will probably really enjoy it.     Some of …

I went and saw this movie because I went to high school with one of the ladies in the film. She was good! But then I had to sit through the other 3 hours of the movie.  I love bad romantic comedies, and this certainly was one. The issue I had with it was that it was trying to be something a little artier, a little more thought-provoking and a little more than an hour longer than it should have been. I'm glad that romantic comedies are trying to be more indie and interesting, but this movie …

About this movie

He's Just Not That Into You is a movie based on the best selling book by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo.  The movie opened on February 6, 2009 with a $27.5 million debut.
The movie takes place in Baltimore and follows a group of young 20 something year olds as they live work their way through dating and discover whether they are "the exception" or "the rule."

Gigi [Ginnifer Goodwin] - single girl playing the dating game and waiting for guys to call
Beth [Jennifer Aniston] - dating and lives with boyfriend of seven years, Neil [Ben Affleck]. However, marriage is not in the picture and may never be in the picture for Neil.
Ben [Bradley Cooper] - married to Janine [Jennifer Connelly], but attracted to Anna [Scarlett Johanson]
Conor [Kevin Connolly] - Anna's "boyfriend" for the time being.
Mary [Drew Barrymore] - single girl playing the dating game ... via the internet.
Alex [Justin Long] - Gigi's go to friend for man advice

The movie touches on the basics "problems" of dating - someone who won't call you back, someone who won't sleep with you, someone who doesn't want to get married. The truth is... he/she is just not that into you.  The question is... will you be lucky enough to be the exception?
