What Pompted You to write a Review?
I was prompted to write this review because never has any of the comic movies I have seen in the last 5 years or so have realistically resembled the actual comic book. Most big hollywood comic book movies do not closely follow the actual storyline or have characters that are far from physically looking like the actual comic book characters this movie followed the book well.
How was the Plot, Acting, Direction?
The plot was fun, funny and unforgettable. The acting was just as great, everything that was said and meant to be comical was believeable. ( I have a hard time watching comedy movies where the humor is jut not believeable and this wasnt one of them.) The movie went in all different directions I did not know what to expect at the end everything led up well.
Were You ENTERTAINED?
I was definately entertained the movie had the tarantino kind of non appropiateness that is bearable. Hitgirl the character of the little girl who cusses and destroys any man no matter what size i thought would recieve alot of backlash however it was enough to not seem provocative. Im sure there were still those critics who thought of these scenes as horrible, but im very liberal and thought it was hilarious. Kick ass the main character was as regular as any hand picked teen out of a crowd of pre pubscent boys. The gay theme could of been critcised if overly done but was played out well and was no where near offensive. His character was believeable and very funny. I still cant believe he is english he played a american teen so well.
Did It Fulfill Expectations? Hype Level?
It surpassed my expectations . I was pretty hyped up for this movie, my boyfriend had the comics so I had an idea of what the movie would like. thinking that hollywood would never do the gruesome scenes that involved the kids and to my surprise they did so that was the best thing i think.
Did a Movie Trailer Establish a HYPE?
yes it did it was funny and made me want to go watch the movie it didnt give to much away or leave the overall theme out.
Is This Movie Mainstream Or Pretty Obscure?
This is hard to explain but Id say it is a mainstream obscure movie if that is possible. Movies in the comic department are pretty obscure and minimal because only the comic book fan really knows what the storyline is and should be however when they become mainstream they are viewed by people who enjoy all types of but the die hard comic fans know how trhe story really goes and they are the small group who highly dissaprove if the movie does not fulfill their knowledge of the book/movie so for those who havent read the book or know the story its just another mainstream movie but for the fans who are the smaller percentage of this comic book genre it might just be obscure on that scale. (I hoped this doesnt come out offensive I tried to explain it as best as i can reason is my boyfriend is a huge comic book fan and he gets completely devastated when the wrong actor is casted for a certain character or when the story does not follow the comic book, he hates how comic book movies that are mainstream are made to be mainstream not original because if they were they would be pretty obscure)

KICK ASS KICK ASS KICK ASS. I reccomend for everyone and honeslty dont think that the rating on the movie should discourage parents from letting their teens or tweens whatever it may be watch the movie.

Define what the Star rating mean to you...
The star rating for me meant that although the movie was great I will not be counting down the days till the next yes I will go to the theaters to watch part two but I wont be counting down the days thats all.
How would you recommend the movie?
Nevertheless, this is not a movie that is too diverse meaning that everyone you meet will like so when i suggest this movie I will probably only tell my closest friends and explain to them how bad ass and not to mention funny this movie really is despite if they did not get t see enough in the trailer.
