The Italian way of a coming-out - wonderful, funny, witty and very very human

Being Italian and being gay isn't something, you would call a convenient combination. Nevertheless faith can't be helped and Angelo has to come to terms with his personal situation.
As the youngest kid of an Italian family that emigrated to Montreal he should live with his parents until he marries a nice Italian girl. Well, that is out of the question, but what is possible?
After meeting his school buddy Nino again the two decide to share rooms - this is quite enough for Nino who maintains the front to his parents and his colleagues at the police, but Angelo wants more. He wants to share his complete life with his family.
The clash of different point of views, angles, expectations, lifestyles is very confronting, but shown in a very positive light. Nearly every character in the story is likeable and real as life itself. That's what makes these parents-son-discussions and this brother-sister-talks so real. You don't have to be Italian to enjoy it. Just think of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". That's a similar story.
And why does Angelo want to be out of the closet: "I want my parents to know who I am." Well, would you rather want to play a charade?
Just watch this movie and see whether Angelo and Nino manage to muddle through, find out about man-hunting Pina in pursuit of a virile husband and learn what parents will do for the happiness (or what they regard as being the happiness) of their offspring and judge for yourself.
Let me know about it!
