Mean Girls

I went into this movie fully expecting to hate it. I mean, come on, it's a movie marketed towards teenage girls, which are cringe-worthy at best and unspeakable at worst. But this one was actually pretty good, and smarter than the average teen movie. It's actually the only good movie that Lindsay Lohan managed to churn out in her adult life, but that being said, she was probably the least compelling/funny performance in the film. Every single cast member was great (even Lindsay a bit), and the high school clique mentality was portrayed very well. All the teen stuff is generally overshadowed by the positive message that it is sending, namely that gossip is bad and as Cady (Lohan) says:

"Calling someone fat doesn't make you any skinnier, calling someone stupid doesn't make you any smarter, etc."

First of all, the performances were all great. All the "plastics" did great. For those of you who don't know, the plastics are Regina George (Rachel McAdams): the Queen Bee, Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Chabert), the second in command, and Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried) the dumbass. Even though all of them are well into their twenties, they convey the teenage stereotypes well. So does Lindsay too, but Lindsay will never be a credible actress to me. But out of all the awesome characters, my favourites will always be Janis and Damian. They seem like people I would hang out with, in fact one of my good friends is fairly similar to Janis.

The jokes are absolutely hilarious. This is one of the things that surprised me about the movie initially. I didn't think that this would be all that funny, but thankfully I was completely wrong. No matter what horrible language is used in this movie, it doesn't matter because that's the way some girls i know talk. This was timely comic satire that would appeal to both girls like Janis and Cady and girls like the Plastics.

However, the film is far from perfect. The subject matter is pretty shallow, although not nearly as shallow as I thought it would be. The climax is a bit stupid, and the jokes in the climax are just for gross factor and unnecessary profanity. But I did like how it tried to compare the high school hierarchy to the animal hierarchy in Africa.

All in all, Mean Girls is probably the best modern teen movie I have ever seen, and that's saying a lot, because most of the teen movies i've seen are pure garbage. The only other good ones i've seen is Easy A and Juno(of course, the John Hughes movies are good, but i'm talking about this generation).

If you haven't seen it, it's definitely one for the ladies, so some types of guys may be bored with it. But it's a great film for a movie night. I would still consider it a chick-flick, but it's a much smarter chick flick than most. In total, this is a pretty good film that is gut-bustingly hilarious.

Mean girls is a interesting film, the best comedy starring lindsay lohan. This movie remind us the dramatic life of the High School but it is very funny! The life in the High School is fun but bit difficult. cady heron is a new girl in High School but to being new student in school is a lot of difficult . This film covers topics such as urban groups:      adolescents groups / mean girls:      Popular (Cady Heron group): This group is for beautiful people …

There aren't many movies that I can watch over and over and over and never get sick of.  Well actually, there are four and Mean Girls is one of them (the others are Zoolander, The Wizard of Oz, and Factory Girl.)     Why Mean Girls? Well it beats any other girl movie out there, it's hilarious and it has Lindsay Lohan in it -- What more do you want?      I guess you probably do want more since you went through the trouble of clicking through:    - …

Yes, I just used "fetch" to mean "cool." I stole it from the movie, and no, I don't use that term on a daily basis. But really now, Mean Girls is a teen comedy like no other. It actually has a plausible plot with which most American teens can relate. Even adults who watch the film will remember their high school days and the drama, tensions, and fun times they had with all the different stereotypical characters. Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, and Tina Fey all do an excellent job drawing in the audience, …
