A Quick Tip by stormtamer

After her father, the king of Forland, is assassinated during a coup d'état carried out by the diabolical Dr. Akamashi and his army of supernatural cyborgs, Princess Alita is forced to flee the kingdom and go into hiding. - Netflix summary

And go into hiding she does, in the best way possible - she literally switches bodies with a fierce bounty hunter named Falis. Upon seeing Falis's fighting skills, Princess Alita begs the bounty hunter to protect the kingdom, and Falis agrees after realizing that her ultimate bounty will come in the form of assuming Alita's role as princess.

Murder Princess is by no means a cerebral, thought provoking anime. However, it is a fun six episode romp that is nicely suited for a lazy weekend afternoon. The animation is fairly standard, and the story is extremely predictable, but over all I enjoyed this anime for what it was, even with two major plot holes that were never filled in at the end. I watched this on my streaming option (partly because after three episodes of High School of the Dead I figured I couldn't do any worse), which only offers the English dub. The voice acting is seamless, and makes the characters enjoyable to watch and listen to. As far as action, it isn't amazing, but it isn't bad either. I quite enjoyed watching Falis shred the bad guys with such (relative) ease.

So again, Murder Princess isn't fantastic, but if you're looking for something that doesn't pretend to be something it isn't, this is a good choice.

With a name like Murder Princess, one might expect this title to be a moody, dark violence-ridden experience. However, and much to my delight, the title is a bit misleading. Based on a manga by Sekihiko Inui, the material was transformed into a six episode OVA series by Marvelous Entertainment. The big news here is that Funimation has acquired the rights to the full domestic DVD release.    The set, which consists of all six- OVA episodes, comes packaged as a single disc within …
