Before I start, I'd like to say this about the previous 2 punishers. The first one was "acceptable" since it was an 80s movie. You don't expect great plots and great acting from 80s movies. You accept them for what they are, just low budget action flicks. The 2nd movie, with John Travolta as the villain, had no excuse to suck that bad. I mean it wasn't a low budget movie and the previous comic book movies that came out before it like spiderman and xmen were big blockbuster hits. But enough about the past, lets talk about the most recent one: Punisher war zone.
All I can say about this movie is that it is what it should be. A violent action film about some vigilante who shows no mercy to any criminals. He decaptiates people with a knife, blows them up with a rocket launcher, and throws them off the roof of a building only to have their bodies land on a spiked fence. Sure the acting isn't "oscar" worthy. And I also know that the story isn't the greatest in the world. But when I see a movie advertised as an action packed movie, like this one, all I freaking care about is ACTION!!! And I can tell you this for sure, all you get is action. From the beginning to end, he's killing guys left and right nonstop. In fact, the final scene alone might've had a kill count of over 100.
Anyways, to sum this movie up for you, Its all action from beginning to end. Very entertaining if you're into that type of movie like 99% of us guys out there. If you're looking for great acting, great plot, with great character development, go and rent some indie film about some girl and her goat or something that ebert and roper gave 2 thumbs up to because this movie is the total opposite of that.
