Don't we always end up with the rich guy?

Pros: ..

Cons: ..

Staying in the same ¬Ďaren't I happy' movie line, I caught a little ditty called Sabrina, mainly because it starred Harrison Ford, and I am always willing to give Ford a watch - sometimes good, sometimes bad. And sometimes just plain mediocre, as I found this movie to be.

The predictable story line - beautiful (now) girl whose father is chauffeur, outrageously rich and handsome men, tender winsome looks, girl goes away to become smarter and wiserand apparently more beautiful, returns to fall for handsome rich guy, handsome rich guys brother falls for girl.

Ford plays the overworked handsome rich guy brother, more in tune to his office than his bedroom (can I say that here?) while his brother, another handsome rich guy, Greg Kinnear (I think this is his first movie) is the exact opposite as playboy about town.

The beautiful girl is newcomer Julia Ormond, that has always peered over the garden wall longing for the handsome rich guy. Of course, he is willing to woo her but not willing to win her. Ford on the other hand is willing to do both.

While not a great movie, in fact not even a good movie, shot more for the need for Ford to have an affair with a young chick without seeming like a pedophile, there is still a nice loveable story line but definitely a chick flick , if I do say so myself.

There is the given fight between brothers over the chick, the assumed result with the chick winning no one and the heart wrenching love scenes. Also stars Nancy Merchand, Richard Crenna, Angie Dickinson and my unknown picks for this one: Jo-Jo Lowe and La Compagne.

Pros: An excellent fairy tale. Ford, Ormand, and Kinear play their parts to perfection.      Cons: When all is said and done, this is just another Cinderella story.      The Bottom Line: Fabulous lines, romance, good writing, romance, and great actors. One of my all time favs.     Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot. The film opens with a wandering aerial shot and the soothing, innocent …

About this movie

Wiki

Sydney Pollack directs Harrison Ford and Julia Ormond in this remake of the 1954 Billy Wilder romantic comedy. Ford and Greg Kinnear portray a pair of brothers who are both potential heirs to the Larrabee family fortune. David, a dashing playboy, and Linus, a sensible stodgy businessman, both end up vying for the affections of Sabrina (Ormond), the chauffeur's daughter, after she returns elegantly transformed from a sojourn in Paris. Pollack presents an effortless contemporary telling of this classic Cinderella story.
