I finally got a chance to see this on bluray the other night. I have to admit that while it wasn't a terrible movie, it sure wasn't good either. If you've seen "The Musketeer", the core plot feels very familiar albeit minus the airships.
The film behaved liked a video game and may have influences from Japanese anime with the way the fights, the devices and elements were introduced. The story had horrible plot holes and while the special effects and costumes looked nice, they were all superficial. The one good thing that got my attention is Milla Jovovich who is terrific as usual as an action star/femme fatale.
Definitely a snooze fest. Avoid unless you are a Milla fan like me. [2 Out of 5 Stars]
