Definition: Generally agreed upon; not subject to dispute, “the undisputed fact” [syn: undisputed, unchallenged, unquestioned]
Undisputed heavyweight world champion George ‘Iceman’ Chambers (Ving Rhames) seems to have it all. It seems there is nothing to stop him from defending his title.. until he is suspected of raping a woman. He is convicted and ends up in prison. There, he finds out about Monroe Hutchen (Wesley Snipes), the reigning boxing champion in prison. It doesn’t take long before the whole prison focuses on one thing: the upcoming fight between the two champions.
Monroe Hutchens: He's the champ.
James Kroycek aka Ratbag Dolan: What's this shit? Don't think negative, man. I don't want to hear that shit. This is your house. You own this place.
Monroe Hutchens: If this was my house, I could get up and leave.
It seems like the perfect boxing movie (after Rocky ofcourse). And yes it could be a great movie, if it wasn’t for the considerably bad acting and flaws in the storyline. However, since this type of movie mostly focuses around the ‘action’ and not the storyline, I’d have to say that this is a pretty good movie.
There is a great contrast between the two boxers. The Iceman is obviously the bad guy, walking around like he’s all that. While Hutchen’s the quiet and peaceful one. So, picking sides isn’t all that hard.
Boxing is a sport you either love or hate, ‘cuz whether you like it or not, it all comes down to two man who are punching the hell out of each other..
