A Quick Tip by RabidChihuahua

Yuck. Cradle of Filth is an intense embaressment to England's metal scene, and contrary to what many believe, Cradle of Filth is NOT a black metal band. They're symphonic gothic metal, and how poorly it sounds. Aside from the fact that this combination of genres deprives the sound of any of that "metal punch" that I deem essential to the whole genre, Dani Filth's (Seriously, a man named Dani?) chipmunk vocals kills ANY enjoyment I could have gotten out of the music.

It's even more sad that when you take into account that COF started off as a competent death metal band in 1991, but decided to turn into music that's appealing for the Hot Topic kids.

Other than COF's demos from 1992 and possibly '93, skip this band all together and check out these bands instead.

Haven't really listened to any COF, but I've been hearing negative things about them from all over, and now after this quick tip, I don't think I will be.

COF's death metal demos from the early 90's are worth listening to if you wanted to wonder what the band "could have been." The only thing you'll get out of COF's music beyond their death metal demos is boredom and a headache. If the weak-sounding songs don't rub you the wrong way, Dani Filth's vocals surely will.
