In your ear like the maker of the vivrant-

It's great to hear Lupe Fiasco's music. In a genre where just about everything now seems to sound the same so it's refreshing to hear a Lupe track. It's also evident that he cares deeply about his music and makes an effort to put out the highest quality music while protecting it from bootleggers and pirates on the Internet who try to leak his music before its intended release date.

I enjoyed his first album titled, "Food & Liquor" but the level of improvement and growth as a rapper from his first to his second album, "The Cool", was dramatic. There are a number of songs in which he is able to paint such great imagery with his lyrics like in the song titled, "The Coolest":

And if the rain stops
And everything's dry
She would cry
Just so I can drink the tears from her eyes
She'll teach me how to fly
Even cushion my fall
If my engines ever stall
And I plummet from the sky
But she will keep me high
And if I ever die
She would commission monuments on her bosom
To hum
Or maybe she'd retire as well
A match made in Heaven set the fires in Hell

These lines also show that he has the ability to take a subject like love and make it sound anything but trite and cliche.

Lupe is also a fan of pretty much everything Japanese and has collaborated with a number of artists in Japan including Verbal of m-Flo and Teriyaki Boyz, Double and Big-O. I am a fan of Japanese music and so I enjoyed these collaborations and look forward to hearing more.

Speaking of hearing more, I can't think of an album that I anticipated more in recent years than Lupe's 3rd album "Lasers" which is still scheduled to be released in 2010. I can definitely say that no matter when the release is, I'll definitely buy the album.
