Run To You

  • Sep 10, 2009
Whitney Houston, almost as famous as Michael Jackson, is one of my favorite female singers. Great vocal, lovely to watch and simply amazing songs she got to sing! One of the greatest musicians of all time!

Here are videos of some of my favorite songs by Whitney. Just the greatest ever!

And last but not least, this sexy number from Whitney & Enrique! When it comes to Whitney Houston, all you need to do is simply listen ... listen with your heart!

7 years of silence, she's now back!!!

Several stars have passed away suddenly in recent years (Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Heath Ledger). Whitney's death seemed to affect me the most. All day yesterday, MTV Hits was playing her videos. When they showed The Greatest Love of All there is a part where she enters a stage with a white outfit and a kind of glow comes off of her. It was so eerie watching it and it brought tears to my eyes.    I never realized until now the depth of her voice and how penetrating it was. …

Of late, the sub-literate among H'witney's devoted faithful have repeatedly lamented the loss of "A MUSECAL ICON" via YouTube and innumerable news sites. It's fun to imagine the fantasy land in which they live, where What-naaaah accomplished anything of note in the past fifteen years save the following:            If the world's lost anything, it wasn't an abundance of class.      This loss of an estimable …

What a loss. We had lost her quite a while before her death to drug, alcohol and allegations of spousal abuse. It seemed like she was on her way back to us when she died in a bathtub at a Beverly Hills hotel. I remember dancing and singing along to her tapes in my room when I was younger. I feel for her daughter and I hope that she can become stronger through this tragedy. RIP Whitney, may you finally find the peace that you longed for...

So saddened by her passing. Hard to listen to some of her songs without getting a chill.

Poor Whitney. She has a wonderful set of pipes, but absolutely no self control.

I'm disappointed that a girl who looks and sounds like her would get involved with Bobby and let him treat her like that. Especially because girls of color look up to her and model themselves after her.

About this musician

Whitney Elizabeth Houston (born August 9, 1963) is an American R&B/pop singer, actress, and former fashion model. Houston is the most awarded female artist of all time, according to Guinness World Records, and her list of awards include 2 Emmy Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 16 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards, among a total of 415 career awards as of 2010. Houston is also one of the world's best-selling music artists, having sold over 170 million albums and singles worldwide.

Inspired by several prominent soul singers in her extended family, including her mother Cissy Houston, cousins Dionne Warwick and Dee Dee Warwick, and Godmother Aretha Franklin, Houston began singing at her New Jersey church as a member of a junior gospel choir at age eleven.[4] After she began performing alongside her mother in night clubs in the New York City area, she was discovered by Arista Records label head Clive Davis. Houston has released six studio albums and three movie soundtrack albums throughout her career, all of which have had diamond, multi-platinum, platinum, or gold certification.

Houston released her debut album Whitney Houston in 1985, which became the best-selling debut album by a female act at the time of its release. Her second studio album Whitney (1987) became the first album by a female artist to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Houston's crossover appeal on the popular music charts as well as her prominence on MTV, starting with ...
