Archer just replaced Jack Bauer as my favorite super spy!

Two days ago, I came across "Archer" on Hulu -- an animated cartoon about a semi-dysfunctional spy agency called ISIS. Two days later, I've already burned through all ten episodes of season 1 and I can't wait for the new season to start.

"Archer" isn't for everyone -- the humor can be offensive, sexist, and completely random -- but if you can set your "Politically Correct" hat aside for a bit, there are some great jokes in the show. The show seems like a natural spin-off from Venture Bros both in humor and style.

The voice acting cast includes H. Jon Benjamin and Aisha Tyler as the two main spies at the agency as well as two favorites from Arrested Development including Judy Greer and Jessica Walter. The actors do a great job in their deadpan delivery of the lines and the comedic timing is perfect. Like most good shows, the more you watch, the better it gets as you start to get a feeling for each of the characters.

Here's a few of my favorite quotes, but they're even better in their full context:

She's not a call girl, she's a hooker. When they're dead, they're called hookers. Dead hookers.
All I've had to eat today is like six gummy bears and some scotch
Sure, you walked into Discount Lingerie and asked them for something to showcase your intellect
Karate?! The Dane Cook of Martial Arts?!

These quotes don't do this show justice... Seriously... it's awesome!

Just watched the commercial that you added. FX? I expected this stuff to be on Adult Swim! Between your quotes and that, I think I have a new show to be addicted to. Thanks a lot, Andrew ;P

The Dane cook like is pretty damn funny. Timing and originality. This show is spades and I ain't talkin David.

A Quick Tip by TheJohn

Chauvinistic, boozing,and dim super secret agent must contend with his mother who is also his boss, his ex girlfriend who is also a fellow agent and his stupid co-workers while saving the world. Archer makes James Bond look tame by comparison and while the writing isn't superb, some of the jokes and clever jokes coupled with unique art shifts and style make it terrific.
