This brief film highlights images of both the horror and hope in Eastern Congo. Having visited this region and seen the work of Search for Common Ground there, I can attest to how heart-wrenching the challenges can be and how inspiring the human spirit is when given a chance to express the desire for peace. What is powerful about the work is how it is grounded in the local cultural context - drawing upon the love of music and theatre to allow people to seek common ground and to address issues.
