I can't really write a "review" of my own work, so I'll take this chance to write up a little behind the scenes and say some good stuff about the making of Stuck.
I'll start out by stating that yes, I went over budget. That was bound to happen since my budget was zero. I borrowed the equipment from Stormmaker Productions, a production company owned by my friends that I do work for. The office scene is at Stormmaker as well. We made a new friend literally the week before shooting who let us use her house...she is an AMAZING human being. Her name is Amanda Stratt. Check her out at www.amandastratt.com and www.amandastratt.net.
The actors are amazing and agreed to help out for no pay, as did the crew. I did have to pay a kit fee for the makeup artist and I had to buy food for the two days of shooting...you *have* to feed people...#1 rule in filmmaking. I also had to buy a good external hard drive to save the footage to. So my "no budget" project cost me about $500 in real money. I haven't put a value on what everyone put in b/c to me, it's priceless.
The story was sorta borrowed from real life. I don't want to tell too much, but...
Jeff Daly - I've known him my whole life and he's amazing...had to put him in...HAD to. :)
Femi Emiola - This lovely lady and I got paired up at an audition years ago and I kept telling her that she and would do something together and it took me a long time, but we stayed friends and now we are able to make this happen. I have so much respect for her as an artist and a human being and I'm glad I was able to finally make my promise happen.
Steffanie Siebrand - ahhh, Dr. Verfasser. Steffanie is the wife in the couple that owns Stormmaker. She is also a seasoned host and producer. Steff is the only title that seems fit for her, because she does it all.
Jayme Lutz (Producer) - I get to work with Jayme everyday and there is no better cheerleader anywhere. She is also an attention to detail person and she will keep you on as tight a schedule as you want to be on.
Aldo Lara - (co-Director, D.P., Editor) - Aldomatic is another multi-talented individual that is invaluable when you have a small crew. He is an editor with shooting skills so he's out there when we're shooting and he's always thinking about the editing too.
Donald Rios (Sound/Boom) - this guy I call "The King"
Jesse Coley (Photographer) - Jesse is a "Jesse of all trades" and the kind of person you want on the set. She's an actress, photographer, editor and recently a script supervisor.
The story surrounds two people who find themselves in a predicament and we get to see how they react and ultimately come to a conclusion.
I wrote this story based on conversations I had in a real life relationship. I dramatized a little...ok a lot! :)
I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it!!
