Great, Cozy Village and a Solid Mountain

My time in Telluride was an excellent experience.  The cabin we got was pretty affordable, but a real easy skate to a wide variety of lift options.  I met some of the staff from the resort, and they were all really friendly and had a good grasp on the night life - a dealbreaker for a ski town.

The town itself has strict regulations on what kinds of businesses they allow to open up, so there's no chain fast food or anything.  Though it goes against some of my economic beliefs, I don't argue because it really maintains the aesthetic and personality of the town. Plus, small town shops are better anyways.

The mountain has over 200 acres of skiable area with 120 trails and 18 lifts.  The trails are all pretty well laid out and maintained and there are blue routes all the way up to the top ridge, allowing even intermediate skiers and snowboarders a fantastic view.

Also, The Fly Me to the Moon Salloon has a dance floor on springs. Springs!
