Of the places that make me believe in Heaven...

Yosemite is a crown jewel in the US National Park system. It's deep, glacier-polished valleys and soaring waterfalls make you wonder if any place on earth is closer to Heaven.

If you have just a day in Yosemite, hang around Yosemite Valley and check out the many waterfalls and take the trail to Mirror Lake. Just one day here will give you insight into how and why so many people have been inspired by the park's beauty.

My favorite hike in the park is the Yosemite Falls trail, which takes you to the top of the falls. From there, you get a fantastic view of the valley and are just inches from where a small creek tumbles off a cliff's edge to produce North America's tallest waterfall.

Be sure to visit in late spring when falls and rivers are filled with meltwater from winter snows, or in early fall when summer crowds dwindle and the park becomes peaceful again.

About this place

Wiki

Yosemite National Park preserves and protects over 760,000 acres of forest, mountains, rivers, lakes, and other features in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. It was established in 1890 and declared a World Heritage Site in 1984. The park's main attraction is Yosemite Valley, a deep canyon carved by retreating glaciers from the last ice age. Yosemite Valley also contains some of the continent's tallest waterfalls, including Yosemite Falls at over 2,425 feet, the tallest in North America.
