Remarkable engineering for a "cheap" product...

Sometimes the simplest designs are the best, and the AmazonBasics Portable Fold-Up Travel Stand qualifies for that assessment. I got one through the Amazon Vine review program, thinking it'd be nice to have a stand to prop up my iPad or Kindle on occasion. What I didn't expect was a small design package that is ingenious in its simplicity.

The stand, when folded up, is light and compact. You could easily toss it into a computer bag or your luggage if you went on a trip. If you're using it around the house, it won't take up any room while not in use. The amazing thing to me was the way the design team placed the hinges and padding to give maximum flexibility on how to adjust the stand to fit just about anything. It really was an elegant piece of engineering for something so simple in concept.

I know there are dozens of stands that range from DYI to "fork out the dough". If you want to spend a bundle, go for it. But if you want something that's inexpensive and does what's advertised (and does it well, in my opinion), this stand is the way to go.
