Incredibly powerful, but is it worth all the trouble?

The Big Boss Juicer is 700W and 18,000 RPM, which makes it pretty darned powerful. It can reduce a large navel orange to juice in a matter of seconds. Problem is, every time I've tried it, one large navel orange only yielded maybe 6 ounces of juice. With the price of navel oranges at around $1 EACH in my area, it would be an expensive proposition to make juice for a whole family even on one day of the week (that said, I know navels aren't the best juicing orange, but it's the type of orange most readily available in the stores here, so that's what I use). Here are some pros and cons to consider:

Pros:

Super powerful, so it makes juice FAST! Love that!

Its parts are dishwasher-safe and also easy to rinse in the sink after use (with the exception of the silver center piece).

The juicer is relatively easy to disassemble after juicing and reassemble after washing the parts (with the exception of the silver center piece and the housing it is part of).

There is only one switch and it only has 2 settings, so it's easy to use.

Some fruits don't need to be peeled before being put into the juicer.

Cons:

Super noisy, though thankfully it doesn't have to run long!

The parts that need to be removed, washed and reassembled after using the juicer are enough to fill up my entire dish drainer.

Any fruit with a heavy rind or skin (oranges, pineapples, etc.) must be peeled before they can be put into the juicer.

Only makes a tiny bit of juice from one LARGE navel orange.

There is no holder for the juice, so you have to remember to put a cup under the spout before you start juicing.

The juice spout is low on the machine and therefore only allows a short glass or cup to fit under the spout in order to catch the juice. If you were making a lot of juice, you'd have to keep pouring it from that glass into a pitcher.

I will be the first to admit that I am pretty lazy in the kitchen and don't like doing a lot of work for a little reward. As a result, even though I've kept this machine out on my bar, I find that I rarely use it because, while the machine makes the juice really easily and quickly, pulling apart the multiple pieces of the machine, cleaning them and putting it all back together correctly is a pain. Sure, I could put all this stuff in the dishwasher, but then my entire top rack would be full and I'd have no room for the other stuff that goes on the top rack. YMMV (i.e., this may not be an issue for you).

This sounds like a good machine but there may be a better one. The Vitamix 5000 is about $360- $400. on sale. The fruits and veggies are juiced whole. There is no waste. You eat the ground pulp which is a soft fiber. In addition, there is a heating element to make soup. Just place the plastic container in the sink and rinse. That's it. There is no mess to clean. I've juiced about 20 pounds or more of fruits and veggies in under 15 minutes. The fruits and veggies are placed whole into the plastic canister. The downside is that the machine is a bit noisy. Otherwise, the purchase is well worth the modest cost. Your body must have fiber to push out the toxins. Toxins cannot be dispelled by medication alone. In addition, you need the continuous functioning of the peristalsis to maintain good toning of the muscles and nerves of the gastrointestinal tract.
