Great printing! Great copying! Wireless setup, however...
Mar 16, 2011
So I don't have a huge amount of space in my living room. Much of the space is taken up by... well, living room things, including an 800+ title movie collection (shameless bragging? Damn right). This didn't leave me a lot of room for my old printer, but I managed. So imagine how happy I was to get this wi-fi capable printer!
Yes, this means that now I can have my computer in the living room and keep my printer in the bedroom. With no wires or cables needed, I can transmit directly to the printer! Wonderful! Setting it up was not easy, however. It was, in fact, a major pain. For some reason the software that came with the printer didn't work terribly well when I tried to set up the wireless system. Eventually after a couple hours, I gave up and spent 45 minutes on the phone with Epson's technical support. That was a nuisance, but they did manage to get everything set up properly.
Beyond that, the printer works quite dandy! Set up, ignoring the wireless issues, was very easy. The print quality is extremely good! I like the fact that there's a printer tray to hold the paper instead of putting in through the back of the machine. I also like that the control panel and the part of the printer where the paper comes out are both easily folded away to make space.
I haven't tested out the faxing capabilities. I don't have a phone line at home, so faxing is not something that I do. I also haven't tested the scanning abilities, because I don't really need to scan anything. I did, however, test out the copy capability and that worked really well, though it wasn't quite as bright as the original.
Overall this is a great little printer. I haven't any real complaints about it, other than the problems on the wireless set up. A great bargain otherwise!
